I won a copy of The High Season in a Bookish First raffle, and was delighted to get it. I love summer beach stories, and this one did not disappoint. I read it quickly as I was hooked after the first chapter. I thought the characters were well formed and I could picture all of them as I read. There were a number of twists and turns to the plot and I enjoyed how the author was able to tie the characters together in one way or another. I can see this book being adapted to a screenplay easily.
I would certainly like to read any future adult titles by Judy Blundell. If you have ever been to the North Fork of Long Island and like books to read under an umbrella with some SPF, you should add this one to your beach bag.
