I really like the author's writing style and I did enjoy the characters. I like the wit and sarcasm. Even though some of the characters were "spoiled" rich people I enjoyed reading about them and I liked the realism of the different personalities.
The only thing lacking was the plot, I thought some of the events were dull and I did skim through those parts.
Ruthie was my favorite character and I thought she was the most relatable and real. I would definitely enjoy a glass of wine with her on the beach.
The ending was good, very satisfying, and the author did a very well job of tying up all the loose ends and such.
So overall I did enjoy this book and would recommend it. The High Season is a good summer read.
