Ruthie and her daughter Jem are getting ready to move out of their beach house because they have a tenant for the whole summer. Adeline arrives early and is a rich lady trying to hide out on the beach for the summer. She is known for liking things that are quirky, so she comments on how quirky Ruthie’s beach house is. Mike, Ruthie’s soon to be ex-husband, is a carpenter who promises to make repairs for Adeline and also introduces her to his artwork. There is an undercurrent between the two of them that Ruthie does not seem to like. While Ruthie is trying hard to get moved into a guest house for the summer and leave behind her beloved property, Adeline. Is determined to make herself at home, in all the ways that count. This book promises to be a tantalizing and somewhat tongue-in-cheek look at life with the rich and famous and then life with the everyday people.
