The High Season is the fantastic summer beach read you're looking for to receive a little bit of an escape -- but one that is still within the budget! Ruthie, a mother of a teenager and impending ex-wife to a carpenter is renting her picturesque beach house to a rich widower, Adeline Clay, for the summer while she and her daughter rent a place nearby in order to provide her family with additional income.
Adeline is a thin, gorgeous woman from New York. She's a bit older than Ruthie, but nonetheless a picture of perfection. She lives a life of luxury, and the beach stay is exactly what she is in need of. But does everything turn out the way we plan?
This book seems like a wonderful, classic exploration of having crisp, whitewashed walls on a tomb. Everything seems beautiful from the outside, while all is falling apart and chaos ensues within.
I'm intrigued by this story and it would be a great one to read and review.
