I love the opening of this read and the way it quickly builds and you realize things are going to get very complicated. The relationship between Ruthie and her "ex" is the first clue. "Divorced but the state of New York doesn't know it yet" perfectly describes the half in/half out state of the marriage. The teenage daughter is always a complication and when the socialite steps out of the car and into the beach house, you are hooked! I can tell The High Season is going to be a great read and a fun ride.
