The High Season feels like a great summer read, without all of that "summer beach read" fluff. I felt like Ruthie was a very 'real' main character - someone you can relate to, with flaws, and a refreshing perspective. Adeline seems like a great contrast - stuffy, rich, New Yorker who enters Ruthie's world for the summer. I enjoyed the first couple of chapters and would definitely like to read the entire novel.
