The first two chapters were good, but they didn't necessarily hook me and they likewise didn't give me any indication about where this story is going. Though I liked the writing style and the description of setting and scene, nothing seemed to be happening. However, the set-up is promising and the conflict between Ruthie and her ex-husband is especially intriguing, so I am interested to see where this story is heading once it takes off the ground.
