I definitely got something slightly different than what I was expecting reading this, but it was entirely a pleasant surprise. Adeline and Ruthie are both very different interesting complex women and I would love to see more of their stories play out. It's a good contrast between the two, and it raises some interesting questions about how the choices we make effect our path. Except seemingly this book raises them without being too condescending one way or the other, and I really appreciated that.
