I read my very first Cyberpunk book a few months ago and loved it! When I saw The Hermes Protocol, my interest was immediately piqued. There is something so different and unique about a world that is partly sci-fi, but mostly full of dark technology.

Seeing that our main character is not one of the most lay abiding citizens in Jayu City only adds to the intrigue. I love heists, smuggling and breaking and entering stories. The authors focus on the technology and the development already of the language used sets the story up well for a roller coaster ride. The irony of things not going well add to the tension created by being somewhere you are not supposed to be.

Reading the first glance, you are immediately drawn into the entire scene in Randy and Ortega's apartment. It was a quick and easy read that had me clicking to make sure there really wasn't another page available.

I'm still new to this genre, and I am really eager to see where the author takes this story and how the world is built and the characters and technology are developed.
