For being YA this was a pretty spooky little book! There are a lot of quiet moments where you're holding your breath in anticipation, as you would if you were watching a scary movie. In fact this book would make a perfect 90s/00s style teenage horror movie. There is a lot of ghostly action, a sort of "zombie" scene and the horror of moving to a new town in high school only to find yourself instantly popular. There is also a cute outcast loner who is misunderstood and an epic house party scene. Can't you just see Sarah Michelle Gellar now?
