I've struggled with this review. I liked the writing style and the the author was able to tell an interesting story. However I am giving The Haunted by Danielle Vega a two star review because of the causal use of teen drinking. I understand drinking at parties, but anytime two or more teens got together there was alcohol involved. It was portrayed as normal, with the intended audience being ages 9 and up. As a parent of kids in this age group I have a big problem with the promotion of teen drinking! The drinking didn't play into the story even, it was just thrown in like it is completely acceptable for kids to drink every time they get together after school. As a whole I would say pass, especially for younger readers
