The reader's hook of the Prologue is absolutely and compellingly terrifying. That poor child! As soon as I began to read it, I knew I have to read this novel (and soon!). The characters elicited my empathy immediately, I love the setting, and the writing is so smooth that I finished the First Look almost without realizing. This is a novel that as soon as I acquire it, I will drop everything to read it immediately (and most likely, read it twice).
