Sounds like it’s definitely going to be a spine-tingling, spooky read!
I’ve been interested in reading something by Danielle Vega for quite some time, ever since I saw her name and books being called “YA’s answer to Stephen King”. I’m a long-time King fan, an even bigger fan of horror, and YA horror is something I’ve not read enough of. Or even found enough of for that matter, so I’m ridiculously excited for this one.
Based on the sneak peek, The Haunted sounds like it’s going to be phenomenal horror read. Haunted house, dark forces, family secrets, and the best part — a main character who’s the new girl in town. I adore new kid in town stories because it always touches on things that both adults and teens can relate to — being accepted, or in many cases, not being accepted and the fear and heartache that comes along with that.
Really looking forward to Vega’s new novel and I’ll definitely be checking out her backlist to fill my need for more YA horror novels.
