I was so excited when I saw that I had won this book in a Bookish First raffle. I've been on a thriller binge this year, and was excited to read an author that I hadn't previously read. Overall, I enjoyed the story, but I wouldn't deem it a thriller by any means, and I wish it would have moved a little faster than it did.

This book didn't have aspects of a thriller, in my opinion. I would consider this to be more of a family drama. The family had been hiding so many secrets from each other, and they all come out during the course of this book and the mystery of who this half-sister really is and why she has shown up now.

The first third of this book moves pretty slowly. I had a hard time getting into the story because of this. However, I did enjoy the characters and felt like I could connect with both of the sisters.

Another issue I had with this book was the ending. I felt like the author wrapped everything up way too quickly. I was reading and was interested to see how they were going to resolve the issue - and then BAM, we are at the last chapter that wraps everything in a nice, pretty bow. It just felt too quick and rushed to me.

Overall, I'm glad I read this book. It was a decent book, I just think it's being marketed in the wrong genre. I would recommend getting this one from the library if it sounds interesting to you!
