This is definitely more of a family drama than thriller novel. A strange young woman shows up to the family's Sunday dinner claiming to be their late father's love child. In typical fashion the Mother refuses to talk about it, the sisters fight about it, and secrets are revealed.
There are a few side plots that don't really go anywhere and I suspect are there to get us to either like or not like certain characters.
Both sisters are dealing with their own family drama at home which they've managed to keep to themselves, but are furious when any secrets are revealed.
The ending is anticlimactic because at this point we all know what's going on.
I normally love Sandie Jones' novels, but this one just didn't hit the mark for me.
