Right from the start, you learn where issues lie within the family. You just have to look at the book's cover to know that something bad is going to happen and I had this creepy uncomfortable feeling all throughout reading the excerpt. Tensions are high at the family dinner table as we find out more about the characters' relationships with each other. When an unexpected visitor arrives, things become even more unpredictable. This book sounds exciting and intriguing even though it isn't even in my usual genre.
