My first impressions of "The Half Sister" is that it is a pretty interesting story. I have never really read a family drama book like this one before, but this book really drew me in because of the dynamic and relatable characters introduced to us at the beginning of the story. To me, when I first saw the book cover, I thought it was going to be one of those adult thrillers where the half sister would become a murderer or something, and honestly that was what actually drew me in to read this book in the first place, but when I read the description I realized that I was wrong.

As I've mentioned before, I have never read a book about family drama like this before so I was a little bit skeptical at first, but what really made me want to read more from this book were the incredible characters that were portrayed in the story and the pacing of the overall book itself. I really liked the way the author could describe and introduce us to all the characters in the first few chapters of the story and I really liked how she introduces us to the problem at the beginning of the story, without going too much into the book.

The story development, personally for me was really good. I also liked the way the author creates a "tense" atmosphere when Kate, Lauren, Simon, and Rose were eating dinner with each other. This created a necessary and appropriate atmosphere for what is about to occur: when Jess, the unknown half sister interrupts the family dinner and ruins it.

The characters themselves were also all believable and relatable. They were realistic enough that it makes the readers become sort of apart of the family somehow.

I would really like to find out more on what happens to this family and find out if Kate's family will accept Jess into the family and forgives her father for what he has done or not. I am also looking forward to see how Lauren and Simon's relationship goes after these first few chapters.
