Wow - the start of this book immediately had my heart racing and a nervous for the main character! I was nervous at first that there would be a descriptive rape scene but when she ended up killing him, I was surprised. You immediately start to feel for these sundown and daybreak girls.
By the end of the excerpt, they've rallied a group and you're cheering for them to make it out of the house with Aster leading them.
This had a Hunger Games feel to it but from a solely female perspective - a little dystopian and dark but hopeful that they can find a better life.
I LOVED the cover - having a non-white female on the cover felt so inclusive and made me immediately interested.
Would read for sure!
