The Godmothers was my first introduction to this author and I felt like it was so engaging and heartwarming but it was also sad at some times. The story surrounds a family mystery that transports you from the country of Australia to Scotland, England to Ireland and is centered on Eliza's need to uncover the truth of her father.
Eliza is lonely and devoted to her job. Her home life was troubled growing up. Her mom could never be counted on. She never knew her father. Eliza was the goddaughter to Oliver and Maxie. When Eliza was eighteen a tragic event changes her life.
Years later Eliza lost her job and flys to Edinburgh to stay with Olivia's family at the Montgomery Hotel for her other godmother Maxie's wedding. This story has so much to offer and I especially loved Sullivan! I love the many topics that this book covers and will absolutely be recommending to friends.
