The Godmothers is marketed as a great big hug of a book that will fill your heart to bursting. It definitely delivers. After reading it, I definitely wanted to give my parents a great hug.

First, the cover. I didn't exactly care for the cover (it was a bit plain for my tastes). But it did the job.

I think the plot and the premise of the book is something that many people may be able to relate to. There are countless single mothers or orphans who are unaware of their birth origins, including Eliza.

I really like the idea of godmothers (even though I've never had one myself, but Olivia and Maxie are exactly what I imagine they would be like). I enjoyed all of the characters greatly and think that Eliza's growth and discovery were very interesting to read. I must say that Sullivan was my favorite character!

Overall, a great and heartwarming read.
