Eliza's mom, Jeannie, had quite an imagination. Her stories were colorful and maybe could not be verified, but that was Jeannie. She chose her two close friends to be Godmothers to her daughter. They took their job seriously and visited Australia often to see her and her mom.

Flash forward to Eliza as an adult whose mom has died without telling her who might be her father. Of course Eliza wants to know, but her mom never gave her the same answer twice and died before revealing his name.

The Godmothers know a bit more about Jeannie than Eliza does and they arrange to have her come to the UK to present her with her mom's postcards. These cards were written around the time of the pregnancy so Eliza hopes to learn who fathered her.

The answers she learns are with the help of her aunts, the manager of the hotel where one of them works and several others offer support along the way.

My favorite character was Sullivan, the boy who helps her with her fear of flying. I also felt sorry for him and was glad Eliza helped to bring him some happiness in exchange for the flying support he provided.

Well worth reading and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
