I've never heard of this author before, but the bit of red on the cover caught my attention. Besides for the color, the cover falls a bit flat for me. I wouldn't have been interested unless also reading the synopsis. Judging from the title I also wouldn't think this is for me, I've only heard godmothers talked about by my catholic friends in a religious way. This book follows Eliza, who grew up an only child with her mom and godmothers, Maxie & Olivia. Then a tragedy happens. There's a time jump to thirteen years where she gets an invitation from one of them. She ends up in a new family and is flourishing but wants to know who her father is. This is contemporary fiction which is a genre I like. It sounds like a found family and I am curious as to what was the tragedy that happened and who her father is.
