I already love the characters of this book, I was an only girl raised by a single mom and usually stories that center on that kind of relationship always talk in terms about how hard that relationship is. And while we know tragedy strikes hard and fast in thus book even the very beginning lays the seeds of a hopeful future for the main character that I truly hope she gets. The title is the godmother and it is already shaping up to be a modern day coming of age store in a way that only a fairytale could do it.
