So far, this novel has gotten my attention! I would have never picked this book off the shelf and bought it, as it is not typically my style. I do not often read books with older (than me) protagonists, but I think I will now after the enjoyment I found while reading the first two chapters.
There is a hint of mystery that makes me want to keep reading this novel; from the death of Eliza's mother, her circumstances, and the exclusion of her Father who the Mother had yet to speak the truth of. The grand adventure begins right at the cutoff, and the cliffhanger makes me want to keep reading.
