It's hard sometimes to judge a book based on a snippet of it, but this one doesn't make me feel favorably towards the book. Part of me is interested, but not enough of me to actually want to read the book.
I thought the writing just felt a bit clunky and weird. I didn't much like what I knew about the mother. I'm not saying she's horrible, but what I saw didn't impress me much.
