Reading The Girls of 17 Swann Street provided awareness of Anna's struggles with living an independent life in a new country, away from everything she held dear in Paris. What begins as a dietary regimen in order to get back in shape spirals dangerously out of control. In the beginning of the Sneak Peek, Anna is admitted into 17 Swann Street aware of her anorexia, yet unaware of the severity of her issue.

The narration shifts form 1st person to 3rd person (when her tale shifts to reflecting on life upon moving from Paris to the US), yet this doesn't take away for the impact of Anna's situation. It heightens the awareness of Anna's plight as she struggles to find her voice in a new world. Anna's control of her personal situation takes a downward turn, impacting her physical and emotional state.

I fully enjoyed reading this Sneak Peek of The Girls of 17 Swann Street, and I anticipate picking up a copy of Yara Zgheib's novel when it's released.
