This is such a beautifully written story about a difficult topic. Anna and her fellow residents at 17 Swann Street suffer from eating disorders, and as such deal with issues of body image, guilt, believing in lies. These are things that any of us can relate to on a daily basis. The reader does not have to suffer from anorexia or bulimia to relate to these characters on a personal level. Their diseases represent any of the myriad of struggles that we must face on any given day and learn to rise above.

The writing style of this novel is so original. It is poetic. It is haunting and lyrical. The stories will tug at your heart strings. This is a beautiful work. The messages within are important for us all to internalize.
