The mood of this book is palpable from the outset. Anna's mindset swings between knowing clinically that she has anorexia, but also maintaining a sort of false pride, as if the questions about her weight on the intake form are somehow irrelevant and rude. I like the shift between seeing her arrival at 17 Swann Street and getting hints of her past and how she arrived as this low point of her life, emotionally, physically and relationally.
