The opening of The Girls at 17 Swan Street is as intriguing as it is harrowing. I was hooked instantly and didn't want to stop reading. It seems as if it's a difficult plot line to get through just because I was already connected with the protagonist within the first few lines. This would definitely be a book I'd want to devour.
