Despite the somewhat cheery introduction, there's a sadness that lies beneath even before the first chapter closes. Anna's a sad, desperate character yet there's a glimmer of the little girl she used to be. This is going to be a game changer in the book world. Often anorexia isn't written about so it's refreshing to see something so dire written about, something everyone needs to be aware of.
