This series has been recommended to me for years now and by various friends and members of my book club. I finally got around to reading this series in October 2021. I am super excited to have dived into this world. It has definetly been a slow burn but the writing style is absolutely engaging. The writing is very atmospheric and I am loving learning more about the Russian myths and lore from the old country and times. Our main character is a very noble, brave, and daring female heroine. She is facing danger just from being a woman but is fearless in her journey to fight for her father's vengeance and to protect those that she loves. I really enjoyed being in her mind and hearing about the obstacles she us going through in her journey. Some of the themes in the book include lying, vengeance, religion, and the depth of family ties. I can't wait to finish the trilogy.
