The 14th century medieval Russian saga continues with Vasha traveling through the icy winter forest on her faithful horse, Solovey, searching for Morozko, the Winter King. Her older brother, Sasha, now a priest arrives at his sister's Moscow home with news of their father's untimely death. Sasha brings with him to Olga's home, the rescued former priest of their village.

The mystical fairytale combined with history continues on where "The Bear and the Nightingale" ended. This book is the second story in a series of three. I can't wait to read the rest of the story, I was drawn back into the enchantment immediately.

The beautiful book cover sets the tone of the story with a young woman riding a horse, wild and free.
