A new work of literary fiction, "The Gillespie County Fair" opens with Carel Geische waking up to a pinking sky and a view of a fire down on Lincoln Street. After waking his wife, Cora Lynn, Carel heads downtown to get a better view of what's happening. What follows from there is an introduction into the characters and sights of the German farming town of Fredericksburg, Texas. A novel of wealth vs. poverty, and friend vs. foe, I think this novel will be a bit hit with readers!
