Great Writing - Just Not My Kind of Book

This book is full of great writing. I know who the characters are and you can easily start to see each character's personality. I can see why those interested in historical fiction and fiction in general located in Texas would want to read this book. It's just not my type of book. I'm not interested in the area, the idea of a county fair or this specific family's demise. But feuds always make for interesting plots and I think this book so far does a good job of setting that up.
