The opening of this First Impression got me interested right away, but then my interest faded. While the writing is good, the characters aren't likable. The main character is brash and clearly uses people to his advantage. Based on this sample alone, I probably wouldn't choose to spend more time with these characters, though there is enough of a hook to make me wonder where it all goes.
