While I loved this book, it took me a little bit to get into the world-building, but the picture came in bright and clear eventually.
I found myself lost in the story and did not want to put it down, but at the same time I wanted to savor each scene and be transported to this gilded age of whimsy and glamor. I am in love with the heist and magic system element of the story. There is tons of action, angst, but there is also humor. I found myself laughing at times while reading.
All the characters in the story were funny and so easy to connect with! My favorite is Zofia because she is so blunt and straight forward.
Let me tell you. THAT DARN ENDING! Talk about a cliffhanger. So looking forward to book 2!
