I absolutely loved these first few pages. I was immediately sucked into the story. I love the way magic works in this version of Earth. I love how it's considered to be a gift from God (or the Gods depending on what culture you're dealing with). I love how it's called Forging and involves the ability to create things. Even if you don't want to call it magic, that's what it seems like to me.
I was entranced with the idea of Severin trying to get back the items stolen from House Vanth. I'm also slightly infuriated that a House with a clear heir was declared dead. I would love to have the full story behind why that happened. I honestly can't wait to get a copy of this book and read the entire book. I really need to know what happens.
