This book was beautiful and just made my soul so happy! The characters were smart, sassy, and so wholely themselves that I just want to love them all! This story is a heist story that follows five characters who are very different and who have different values and goals. There are glitz, glam, and beautiful dresses and masks, and thievery, what more could I want??
I will admit that for a while the plot was a bit confusing. Especially as the book begins, it really takes a little bit to understand how the world works and what the magic system is. This being said, there is some really amazing rep in this book including multi-racial and Jewish rep and I'm hoping that it will continue to be interesting, while it does play on some stereotypes, I felt as though it fit the characters' personalities not just because of their nationalities. They were all so well developed and they are just my sassy, smart cinnamon rolls that I want to follow forever.
Do I really have to wait until February for the sequel?? And then the third book comes out in 2021, so I have to wait basically forever in order to get the third one and that realization made me want to cry. I really loved this book and once I got into it, the characters really kept me so happy and invested in the book. I highly recommend it and gave it 4 out of 5.
