I received an e-arc of this book on Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I had this book so hyped in my head that I was worried it wouldn't live up to it, but I shouldn't have been worried. Chokshi stunned me again with dazzling, glamorous, dark Paris, enchanting magic, and characters I will not forget.

Don't even get me started on Séverin, my angry, rebellious thief ("acquiring agent"). He was so precious to me. But Zofia & Laila's relationship? That was so sweet and quiet and beautiful. Enrique is ridiculous and the banter between him and Séverin was a delight from beginning to end.

Finally, the plot was tight, well-paced, and easy to follow. Artifact/quest-centric stories aren't generally my favorite, but Chokshi made this work. She is truly one of the queens of fantasy, and THE GILDED WOLVES was a pleasure to read.
