I have an affinity for YA fantasy and The Gilded Wolves did not disappoint! The setting was perfect and the array of characters sublime. I thoroughly enjoyed this breakneck speed novel. I was always left wanting the next chapter. I have not read and of Chokshi's other work but based off this novel I will be adding her other books to my TBR pile and look forward to the next installment of this new series. I found both Laila and Zofia's character's heartbreakingly relatable. Tristan was by far my favorite with his quiet ways and love of creatures others may find nightmarish. Severin's search for his place in a changing world and finding that his place may not be where he first believed is theme that never gets old and in this book is done in an exciting and new way. I loved the mix of real life history and fantasy intertwined. A great book that is well worth the read.
