Set in 1963, Eva is dating Jurgen with the hopes of marriage. But when she is hired as a translator for the Frankfurt Auschwitz Trials, he balks at the idea and pressures her to quit. Will she bend to his will and do what he wants? Or, will she make her own decisions no matter the fall out?
Since this book was about the trials against the SS officers who worked at Auschwitz, I was really looking forward to it and learning more about the trials. Unfortunately, the story just wasn't holding my interest and after reading 100 pages of this book, I decided that I was unable to continue. The story line was moving much too slowly for me. At that point, she still hadn't started the job as translator. Other readers seemed to have enjoyed it so maybe it was just me.
