The first impression shows that the author is tremendously skilled at character and plot building. There is a lot going on in the exerpt provided, and I'm eager to see how Eva's story unfolds. I have read several books about WWII, but none from the vantage point of a translator. Can't wait for the insights this book promises to hold.
