Adequate characters. Okay descriptions. Iffy stakes. Is this book really worth reading? I honestly don't know if I'd read the whole thing or not. At this point I just...don't care. Nothing jumps out at me, stirs me to dream or turn pages rapidly into the night. Is The German House worth the effort? I'm honestly not sure. But it definitely needs a rewrite.
