Eva is waiting on Jurgen to ask for her hand in marriage. On his visit to her home, Canadian lawyer David Miller comes to her with a request to translate. Only the translation request isn't for something ambiguous. Eva is being asked to translate during war trials for former SS members, something most people in Germany want to move on from. I'm sure this is an interesting approach to World War II history, but the story is very choppy and stilted in the preview - sometimes changing POV sentence to sentence. While the language could be attributed to this being a translation, I don't think that the perspectives could be, which makes this somewhat hard to follow. And Eva isn't really that likable so far.
