Do you ever get that feeling just after seeing a book, that it is going to be really good?
That is what I got when I first started "The German House". Hess's writing swept me up into the story and I truly felt like I was standing there with Eva waiting for Jurgen. I was a bit put off by the whole "I must get married before I turn into an old maid" situation but I believe that this has to do with the time period of the book. I am curious to see if Hess will keep this theme throughout the book.
