This story has the feel of a family saga, with an underlying promise of something more to come. The writing is vivid and engaging. Pacing is slow for me to start, though drama and intensity continue to build. I think it's the type of book that gradually captures readers and becomes quite emotional. I'm not a fan of the cover. I don't like the yellow lettering, and I think the mood of the photo is too casual for this type of story.
