The writing is superb, and draws the reader right into this young woman's life, home, family, and potential future. The setting is Germany, during the mid-60s. It's twenty years after WWII, and no one wants to discuss it. This is the first novel I've read that covers this timeframe, and centers around the trials of the death camps. Having lived in Germany during the 70s, when it still wasn't discussed openly, I look forward to reading this perspective.
