The Genome Odyssey was an incredibly interesting and educational read! Cardiologist and scientist Dr. Ashley gave a wonderful insight into the world of medicine. The book looks into the past and presemt of genomics--based personalized medicine. I personally found the book incredibly facinating and interesting. The exploration of geneic sequencing in so many ways was awe-inspiring. I loved the way that Dr. Ashley explained the complex ideas in lay-mans terms. It was not made too hard for a non-math and science brained person such as me to comprehend. I also loved how he weaved personal narratives into the book. The inner lives of various people truly brought life to this book.
Although, I did feel it to be a bit dry at times. I wasn't always intrigued and had to take various breaks while reading. There was a jam-pack of knowledge, something that was not always easy to get into.
But, overall, it was a wonderfull read. I reccomend to anyone who wants to learn more about the science of medicine!
