The Genome Odyssey is the perfect book for anyone interested in the world of medicine. As a pre-medical student myself, I adored learning about the Genome Project and how genes are mapped in present day. I can now no longer wait to take my Genetics class. Having the book focus on patients as well as doctors and researchers makes it even better. Having all sides of the medical community represented and understood made the reading so much more enjoyable. Even though it was a nonfiction book, it was interesting and well-written enough for me to want to pick it up. It was easy to follow and having characters to relate and understand made it even more enjoyable. It would be a good beginner nonfiction book for anyone looking to break into the genre. The Genome Odyssey made me appreciate the discovery and research into genetics. I also now better understand how genetics impacts the medical community and even our daily lives.
