Medical nonfiction, even for a general audience, is not my thing at all. This is written in an accessible manner, for sure, but it seems old-fashioned in its approach, in many ways, like a throwback kind of book. I'm also left wondering how the book handles ableism and the very dicey issues surrounding genetics and disabled children, judging from the focus of its first chapter...
